This year we are going to try having two club nights during the summer months of June, July and August. They will continue to be at the Plough and Fleece, Horningsea, from 8pm and will take place on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. The dates therefore will be as follows:
Wednesday 7th June / Wednesday 21st June / Wednesday 5th July / Wednesday 19th July / Wednesday 2nd August / Wednesday 16th August.
The Austin Seven Clubs’ Association are proposing changes to their constitution, the main thrust of this change being the introduction of ‘term limits’ (from 3 years, up to a maximum of 6 years) for each of the Officer positions. A summary of the rationale for these changes can be found by following the below link
The full proposals can be found by following the below link
Each club will be asked to vote on the proposals at the Association AGM in April. Your Committee intend to cast the club’s vote in support of the changes. However, if you would like to make any comment for the committee to consider in relation to this matter before the vote is cast, please e-mail the Secretary (Details on Contact Page) by 1st April 2017.
Anyone can put themselves forward for the Officer positions, you do not need to be on the committee of an Austin Seven Club before you can put yourself forward for an Association Officer position. Page 12 of the full proposals shows the projected vacancies (should the proposal be adopted) for 2017, 2018, and 2019. If you feel you have the skills for any of these roles and would like to put something back into the Austin Seven world this is could be a great opportunity for to do just that, safe in the knowledge that it will only be a three year commitment. If you do feel you would be interested please can you let the Secretary know (Details on Contact Page) and he will pass your register of interest onto the Austin Seven Clubs’ Association.
The below are available. If you would like to buy one please contact the Secretary (details on Contacts page).
- Windscreen stickers @ 50p
- Enamel lapel badges @ £3
